Sister Act

Based on the Touchstone Pictures Motion Picture “Sister Act” written by Joseph Howard

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she’s placed in protective custody in the last place the cops expect her to be found – a convent! Disguised as a nun, Deloris clashes with the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. But using her soulful singing and slick dance moves, she breathes new life into the church choir and community.

However, Deloris’s show stopping antics soon blow her cover, putting her at odds with the gang of criminals in pursuit. In a riotous finale, the mobsters find themselves up against the power of Deloris’s newly found sisterhood.

Overflowing with infectious gospel music, outrageous choreography, and a heartwarming story, Sister Act is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship and community.

Who’s Under Where?

“Side splitting comedy”-The Muskokan

“Hilarious!” – Packet and Times

Suspicious spouses, stolen underwear and mistaken identities…

Jane and Sybil are on the verge of the deal of their lives. They have rented a hotel suite for a very private showing of their “Passion Fashion Wear” lingerie. Only famous Italian designer Bruno Fruferelli is to attend. The models are booked, the champagne is on ice and the sexy samples are on display. They have anticipated every contingency, except for the arrival of their jealous husbands who have jumped to the wrong conclusions.

Combine suspicious spouses, stolen underwear and mistaken identities with five million dollars, a scantily clad model and a lecherous security guard and you have the recipe for this giddy farce in the classic tradition.

Who’s Under Where?” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

New Sound In Town

Crossovers From Pop to Rock to Country

A musical revue that explores the evolution and cross-pollination of musical genres over the decades. From the smooth harmonies of 1970’s folk-rock pioneers like the Eagles and the rootsy swamp rock of Creedence Clearwater Revival to the good-time jug band revival sounds of The Lovin’ Spoonful, the lines between pop, rock, and country began to blur. Willie Nelson emerged as a crossover sensation, bringing his authentic country twang to the masses and paving the way for future genre-benders.

Fast forward to the 21st century and bands like Mumford & Sons erupted on the scene, marrying old-timey folk instrumentation with an infectious rock energy and massive pop hooks. On the female front, powerhouse vocalists like Linda Ronstadt seamlessly navigated between rock, pop, and country in the ’70s, while Shania Twain exploded in the ’90s with her polished, radio-friendly brand of country-pop. More recently, firecracker artists like Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert have carried the torch, balancing homespun charm with rock and roll attitude. And of course, no discussion of country crossovers would be complete without mentioning Taylor Swift, the Nashville ingénue turned global pop megastar who has bridged the gap between country storytelling and stadium-sized spectacle.

Tune in and trace this captivating musical journey as the lines between genres melt away and a new sound takes the town by storm.
