GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

RISE OF THE GREATEST GIRL GROUPS

Written By Howard Pechet & Liz Gilroy
Musical Arrangements By Konrad Pluta

Step aside, boy bands! The era of the girl groups has arrived! From the stylish swingin’ sounds of the Andrews Sisters in the 1940’s to the pop perfection of the Spice Girls in the 1990’s, female vocal groups have brought harmony, hip shaking, and hit after hit. The early girl groups were often family acts and then the ’60s brought sassy, soulful stars like The Supremes, commanding the spotlight in sequined dresses and sky-high bouffants. As the years rolled on, groups got funky with The Pointer Sisters and sweet with The Bangles. No matter the decade, these talented women knew how to connect with audiences and top the charts. With their dazzling dance moves, bold fashion choices, and chart-topping tunes, the girl groups have left an indelible mark on music history. From Motown to MTV and beyond, the ladies have proven they have the style and the skills to make it in the male-dominated music biz.

TOO MANY COOKS

Written by Marcia Kash, Douglas E. Hughes

Those who enjoy comedic farce will giggle non-stop” – Port Dover Maple Leaf

Too Many Cooks is a hilarious comedy… a huge success.” – Simcoe Reformer

It’s 1932 in Niagara Falls, Canada, where the rum-running business is at its peak.

After the crash, Irving Bubbalowe and his daughter Honey risked everything to open a new restaurant. But when their star singing chef, the renowned François LaPlouffe, fails to show up for the grand opening, the event is suddenly in jeopardy. The struggling Bubbalowe also must deal with Chicago gangsters who have come in search of an illegal liquor shipment that, without Bubbalowe’s knowledge, has ended up in his basement. Additionally, they need to stay ahead of the hot-blooded Immigration officer tracking the missing chef, as well as evade the suspicious Mountie ready to arrest Bubbalowe for both murder and bootlegging.

Madness breaks out as Bubbalowe and the others weave a tangled web of false stories and personas in their desperate attempt to rescue the restaurant – and themselves – from the threats of both mobsters and police.

Music by Tom Snow Lyrics by Dean Pitchford
Additional music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hager, Kenny Loggins & Jim Steinman

Footloose is an exuberant entertainment, bursting to life with music, romance and dance.” – L.A. Movie Gazette

“A crackling show… better than the movie!”– Green Bay Press-Gazette

The explosive movie musical bursts onto the live stage!

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth.

When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

Lionel Richie had us dancing all night long to feel-good anthems like “All Night Long” and romantic ballads like “Hello.” Madonna pushed boundaries with her edgy style and dance tunes like “Like a Virgin” that defined a generation. And Janet Jackson emerged from her famous family’s shadow, controlling her rhythm nation with smash hits like “Nasty”.
